  2.                             CONFIGURATION SCREEN
  3.  
  4. The configuration screen is used to set up several parameters for the
  5. program. (i) Drive:\directory and file names for the system. (ii) password
  6. for DOS access and Maintenance access.  (iii) Colors for the screen, text,
  7. menu background, menu border, and one spare.
  8.  
  9.     Use the following keys to change fields:
  10.  
  11.              <CURSOR_UP>    - Move cursor to previous field
  12.              <CURSOR_DOWN>  - Move cursor to next field
  13.              <ENTER>        - Move to next field
  14.  
  15.     Use the following keys to edit a file field:
  16.  
  17.              <CURSOR_RIGHT> - Move cursor next character to the right
  18.              <CURSOR_LEFT>  - Move cursor to previous (left) character
  19.              <HOME>         - Move cursor to beginning of field
  20.              <END>          - Move cursor to end of field
  21.              <CONTROL><D>   - Delete field's contents
  22.              <INS>          - Toggle between insert and overwrite
  23.              <DEL>          - Delete text to right of cursor
  24.              <BS>           - Backspace, delete text to the left

  26.     Use the <ESC> key to exit the configuration screen.  A pop-up requester
  27. will ask if you want to save your configuration changes.  Type a 'Y' or 'y'
  28. to save changes.

  32.                             FIELD EXPLANATIONS:

  34. COMPANY NAME:
  35. Enter any text here you want to appear on top of the screen. This text will
  36. replace the MenuEase copyright notice present on the menu screen presented
  37. to the user. The text will be automatically centered on the screen.

  40. DRIVE:
  41. Enter the drive of your hard disk where the MenuEase files reside. Defaults
  42. to the drive you specified with the `install' command.  Valid drives are C:
  43. through Z:.  Once this is set it should never be changed.

  46. DIRECTORY:
  47. Enter the directory where MenuEase files reside.  MenuEase will look at the
  48. DRIVE:\DIRECTORY for all required program files.

  51. EXECUTE ON EXIT TO DOS:
  52. Type in a program name or DOS command to execute when you leave MenuEase
  53. permanently and enter DOS.

  56. PASSWORD ON EXIT TO DOS:
  57. Type in a password here so DOS can only be accessed by authorized users.
  58. Note that both passwords (EXIT TO DOS and MENU MAINTENANCE) are active only
  59. if text appears in the password field.

  62. PASSWORD FOR MENU MAINTENANCE:
  63. Type in a password here so only authorized users can change the menu and
  64. gain access to the editor and configuration screens.

  67. USAGE TRACKING FILE NAME:
  68. Type in here the usage tracking log file name you want to use for your
  69. system.  You may put a subdirectory\filename or a filename here, just insure
  70. the directory exists under the drive:\directory you specified in the drive:
  71. and directory: fields. Usage tracking tracks program usage, DOS command
  72. usage, and menu switches.

  75. ENABLE USAGE TRACKING :
  76. Use <CURSOR_RIGHT> and <CURSOR_LEFT> to select whether its 'on' or 'off'.

  80. Color Options:
  81.  
  82. The user can set up different colors to suit his/her tastes. Use the
  83. <CURSOR_UP> and <CURSOR_DOWN> keys to move to the color to change,
  84. <CURSOR_RIGHT> or <CURSOR_LEFT> to change color values.  The monochrome
  85. displays are limited in the different values. CGA and EGA have a choice of
  86. sixteen colors to choose from.  The colors are updated automatically when
  87. changed so you can see their affects immediately. Please experiment for best
  88. results.
